UFO/UAP Disclosure ~ Are There Aliens?
Pastor Leslie Chua
“Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition… The coming of the lawless one is according to the working of Satan, with all power, signs, and lying wonders, 10 and with all unrighteous deception among those who perish, because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved.”
During my secondary school years, my Christian friends persistently tried to evangelise me. For 2 years, I debated with them and tried to convince them that Jesus Christ was a higher intelligence, an astronaut from outer space.
I was then strongly influenced by authors such as Erich von Däniken, who popularised the “ancient astronauts” theory. The central thesis of his books, “Chariots of the Gods” and “The Gold of the Gods,” is that ancient extraterrestrial beings created human civilisations and religions.
People like him proposed the idea of directed panspermia: life on Earth was either deliberately seeded or altered by these intelligent extraterrestrial beings.
These aliens taught humans agriculture, mathematics, astronomy, painting, and architecture. This explains the sudden leap in human intelligence during the “evolutionary process” and the construction of megastructures by ancient peoples, such as the Giza Pyramids and Stonehenge.

Ancient humans mistook these aliens for gods and angels, and their feats for miracles. The chariot of fire that carried Elijah in a whirlwind is a spacecraft. Ezekiel’s vision of the 4 living creatures with 4 faces and 4 wings, and the immense cloud of fire like glowing metal, flashing and surrounded by brilliant light, is a description of a gigantic spaceship (Ezekiel 1).
These aliens left Earth, but they promised to return, consistent with the biblical narrative of Jesus’ Second Coming.
I was convinced that Christians were misguided until I endured a terrible week-long demonic encounter that ended only when I cried out to Jesus for help. Despite my belligerence, Jesus was gracious enough to save me.
Resurgence of Interest
I recall all this, which happened more than 47 years ago, with amusement and a sense of déjà vu. These same ideas of “ancient astronauts” and panspermia are gaining traction in recent years, fuelled by heightened interest in aliens and UFOs/UAP – especially now, with the US government’s rolling disclosure of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) files through a newly established programme called PURSUE (Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters).
For decades, US federal agencies have kept quiet, refusing even to disclose the slightest information. They remain reluctant now and are moving slowly through the disclosure process.
In the past, people who claimed to have seen UFOs/UAP or encountered aliens, or even those who believed in these unusual phenomena, were labelled as fringe, perhaps even crazy.

Dan Farah, the producer and director of “The Age of Disclosure”, went on record, claiming that the US government has recovered dozens of crashed craft of non-human origin over the years. He also says some interviewees claimed the bodies found in those craft were not all of the same type, implying multiple species.

It is no longer the case. The mainstream media all over the world are now reporting on this matter and eagerly anticipating what may emerge from the disclosure.
Due to credible eyewitness accounts, extensive research, and documentaries such as “The Age of Disclosure”, released only in May this year, more people are taking non-human intelligent life and UAP seriously.

Scientific and Theological Communities Engage in Alien and UAP Research
Scientists and astrophysicists are now joining UFO/UAP researchers. The issue no longer belongs in the realm of conspiracy theorists but in mainstream science and technology, not surprisingly, as the world progresses into AI and quantum physics.
Christian theologians, scholars, and researchers are also involved, including Dr Hugh Ross, Rev. Professor Andrew Davison, Guy Consolmagno, LA Marzulli, and Timothy Alberino.

Hugh Ross, an astrophysicist and apologist, has recently written a seminal book, “Lights in the Sky & Little Green Men: A Rational Christian Look at UFOs and Extraterrestrials,” which analyses the phenomena through both scientific and biblical lenses.
Andrew Davidson, an author and Oxford theologian, wrote “Astrobiology and Christian Doctrine,” a highly regarded book that explores how the potential discovery of extraterrestrial intelligence fits within God’s creation.
Guy Consolmagno, a Jesuit brother and director of the Vatican Observatory, actively discusses the relationship between faith and science, arguing that the discovery of alien life would not contradict Catholic theology.
Intelligence Briefing with Pastors
Recently, a group of prominent American pastors claimed they had been invited to meet intelligence officials for a briefing on the forthcoming official disclosures about extraterrestrial life and technology.

Popular evangelist Perry Stone said the upcoming files might reveal spacecraft and non-human entities, and he expressed concern that the revelations could upend traditional biblical accounts of creation.

These pastors further claimed that they had been warned to prepare their flocks for potential ontological shock and to keep the Christian community calm in the wake of the news.

These claims have sparked significant media coverage and online debate. We do not yet know how accurate they are, so we shall wait and see.
Are Aliens Real? Our Response
The discussion of aliens and UFOs/UAP has now come to the fore. The whole world is talking about it, yet the church is largely silent, unsure what to make of it and how to respond.
It is an inconvenient problem. Pastors and Christian leaders are in a quandary, but burying our heads in the sand like ostriches is not a solution. Nor is it appropriate to dismiss it outright as a hoax. We must be prepared to face the situation and explain it intelligently, biblically, and pragmatically.

So, what are we to make of aliens and UFOs/UAP? Are we supposed to believe in their existence? Are we even supposed to talk about them
This is my take for those who are sceptical: keep an open mind about the issue. Do not dismiss it or jump to conclusions. Read up on it and stay abreast of the latest news and developments.
Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena – An End-Time Manifestation
In my next few pastoral reflections, I will write more about aliens and UFOs/UAP and provide a biblical perspective from a supernatural worldview.
Meanwhile, consider the following questions: If there is concrete evidence of alien life, what are the theological implications? How do we account for the existence of such beings? Does this imply the demise of Christianity? Can the biblical worldview accommodate non-human entities and UFOs/UAP? Is there a coherent, biblical explanation?
For the last 2 questions, the answer is yes, a resounding yes.
You will be surprised to find that the Bible addresses these questions. Christians are generally ignorant because we don’t normally ask these questions. If such questions are raised, they are summarily dismissed as fringe conspiracy theories and unworthy of any response, due to a lack of a supernatural worldview (which, by the way, is the biblical worldview).
Unfortunately, that is how most theologians, scholars, and pastors read and interpret the Scriptures today. They accept the supernatural in past events recorded in the Bible but dismiss it in the present. They use high-sounding theological terms, such as Cessationism and Supersessionism, to fit their intellectual, rational, yet unspiritual mindsets.

The Bible can only be properly understood through a supernatural worldview. Dismiss the spiritual element, and it becomes an incoherent document.
____________________________________________
Why do they do that?
Because supernaturalism is antithetical to rationalism and incompatible with the intellectual, educated mind. But this is a fallacy, a mistaken belief inconsistent with the biblical mindset. As the apostle Paul says, “The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit” (1 Corinthians 2:14).
The Bible can only be properly understood through a supernatural worldview. Dismiss the spiritual element, and it becomes an incoherent document.
That is why I often assert that Genesis 1-11 is so important. It is the Bible’s crucial theological foundation. Without it, you cannot fully understand the rest of the Bible. And without reading it through a supernatural lens, you will misunderstand many other critical passages in the Bible, especially those relating to eschatology.
I mention eschatology because I believe the issue of aliens and UFOs/UAP is connected to the End Times.

The alien deception will likely feature prominently, convincing many believers that the narrative of God creating the world is fundamentally flawed. The “astronaut theory” and panspermia offer better explanations of human origins.

There will be rampant, not-so-subtle deceptions that will come upon the whole world. Many will be deceived, including Christians. Deception will be a major cause of apostasy, as many followers of Christ fall away from the faith.

Also, Jesus says in the Olivet Discourse, “But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be” (Matthew 24:37). He is not merely saying that the world will continue as normal, but that, as in the time of Noah, fallen angelic activity will be rampant and overt.

The world at the end of this age will resemble that described in Genesis 1-11. Consider the book of Revelation, and you will understand what I mean.
A plain reading of the text in the first 8 verses of Genesis 6 reveals that fallen angels married human women, producing the hybrid race of Nephilim. These are giants.
Will fallen angelic manifestations and activities become prevalent in the days ahead, as in the time of Noah? Will they manifest as aliens?
Don’t rule that out.
